"ADOPT-A-SPOT" |
The program was first discussed in 1999 and initiated the following year, at that time businesses were sent a list of spots to choose from. They could place an advertising sign on it, and would be responsible for the regular maintenance. If you are interested in adopting a spot, please contact the Chamber office at 695-3688. |
BILLBOARD SIGN |
The Chamber Sponsors the Billboard sign adjacent to the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Care Centre at the entrance to town for all residents and visitors alike informing them of the many services available around town. |
BOARDWALK SIGN |
In 1998 the Chamber the initiative of remodelling the existing Board Walk Sign at the Entrance to the Boardwalk in the downtown area ofPort aux Basques. |
GREETING CARDS |
The Chamber has now launced its first line of Greeting Cards designed by Local Artist , Jeff Musseau. Currently we have 3 fabulous prints available. The cards can be purchased at Pitcher Plant Flowers & Gifts, Past and Presnet Photography, Hotel Port aux Basques , St. Christopher's Hotel, Walters' Jewellery and Irving Mainway. The cards are blank inside so they can be used for any occasion, they also make very nice gifts that sends a special message to Newfounlanders and to those who would like to be. INTERPRETATION PANEL |
We are currently in the process of developing an interpretation panel at the "Sadie & Eva" site on the walking trail towards Grand Bay West. The panel will consist of some pictures and history of the vessel. The project was initiated by the Tidy Towns Committee and was put into action by Randy Smith and Laytoila Noel. The panel will be available for viewing in the near future. |
JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT |
Junior Achievement is a not-for- profit organization that provides business and economic education to youth at no cost to the schools involved. The Port aux Basques & Area Chamber is the sponsoring body for this program for the Southwest Coast Area. |
